Conversion of wine storage LYSBÜCHEL

The “Lysbüchel Süd” development area is located in the north of Basel between Elsässerstrasse, Lothringerstrasse and Beckenstrasse, on a former commercial site. The Habitat Foundation has taken over the 12,400 m2 site. The former Coop wine warehouse has already been partially demolished. The plan is to convert the former wine warehouse into a property with flats and commercial premises by adding extensions and superstructures.
The building comprises 3 basement floors with underground car park and rehearsal rooms, the ground floor with café, flats and office, the 4 upper floors will accommodate flats, as will the attic.

Project
Rytz AG is realising the rear-ventilated façade cladding made of trapezoidal sheet metal, the canopies with integrated nesting boxes for birds, as well as the climbing scaffolding in front of the façades. The contract includes planning, production and installation. The building will be constructed in accordance with the MINERGIE-P-ECO label.
